I have never though I could fall in love with a city so fast, but I fell in love with Amsterdam as soon as I stepped my feet here. I had nothing to expect from Amsterdam at first. I mean, on my Europe trip, I was totally expecting Eiffel, Louvre, Pisa, Alps et cetera, it seemed that Amsterdam has nothing “too” famous to be expected for. But it’s not the famous landmarks that made me fall in love with Amsterdam that fast. It’s Amsterdam itself.
Amsterdam left with a great impression on my mind, and it’s not because it was the first city that I visited in Europe. It was the city itself that was just so… I’m trying to find a perfect word to describe Amsterdam here.. Well, let me just say that Amsterdam has an irresistible beauty in its simple look. It’s the canals, its four-floor houses, its parks, its vintage style, its early spring look, its people. If Amsterdam were a human, then she is one sophisticated lady with an easy going personality that guys hardly resist.
Cruising through Amsterdam’s canal was the best way to enjoy this lovely city. Couples sitting on the benches facing the canals, enjoying spring’s warmth after a massive winter’s blizzard this year. There were boats by the canals, transformed into cozy houses. I would really like to try living there. It must be awesome, waking up in the morning, and when you see outside from your bedroom’s windows was the peaceful canal’s look. The people here were so relax, they seemed to really enjoy their life. I could not forget the moment when I saw a man sitting on the third floor of a house, letting both of his legs loose out from the window as he was reading a book. Oh my, how I envy him!
It’s the simple things that make me adore this city. You don’t need to have the world’s attention to look good, you just have to be you! Well, Amsterdam proved it!
